expression of feelings, and her passion for music and dance, started to
bloom throughout the ages. Leila
is hopelessly devoted to her art.
Jawa’Leila
the Hungarian born, cosmopolitan artist is an acknowledged dancer on
Hungarian and International stages. Her first steps to the
rich remarkable life of dance started at the age of 3 beginning with
ballet. Throughout the years, she was trained by great Hungarian and
foreign professionals in jazz ballet, ballroom dances and
traditional folk dances. In her profile, her most
recent areas of specializations are: the Argentine Tango, the
Flamenco, and last but not least, the Middle Eastern Dances,
which she started in 1996. Leila
may be credited as being one of the first to introduce this exotic dance
genre into Hungary’s dance life with her performances, and by creating the
first dance company on Middle Eastern Dances. Leila’s
aim is to
treasure the wealth of cultural heritage of these traditional dances and
to lead them into some fusion after studying the roots and origins of each
dance keeping their essence and basic message. She is very interested in
the historical and artistic backgrounds and influences of Flamenco and
Arabic dances, she has been investigating it and studying it to enhance
her choreographies. As a dance instructor and
performer, she is in demand in Hungary and several countries. Her
performances have also charmed the audience in the United States, Spain
and Japan. In 1999, at the age of
17, she was rewarded a Professional Certificate by the Hungarian National
Entertainment, Dance and Music Association in Budapest. In 2002 and 2003, she was
working for the Hungarian National Dance Theatre, enriching the
choreographies and performances of the theatre. She was also a member of
the Budapest Argentine Tango Dance Theatre, having performed in several
festivals and public events. Additionally, she has been invited to perform
at numerous private events -birthday, wedding, New Year Eve celebrations.
She finished her studies in 2006 at the University of the Hungarian Dance
Academy, as a choreographer and a critic on art. In June 2006, she was
honored to be one of the accepted participants at the 1st
Egyptian Dance Seminar and Workshop conducted by Mahmoud Reda and
Farida Fahmy held in Cairo, Egypt, with the valuable lectures of
legends like SaharOkasha, (costume designing), Shahira
Mehrez (enlighten on the Egyptian heritage in arts, costumes and
architecture), and Maher Kamal (deep essential instructions on
music and composition of the Middle East). Jawa’Leila,
is in high demand at Hungarian and International dance venues. She
provides dance instruction for several dance companies and performs around
the world as well. She currently resides in Spain where she continues her
studies and research.
